Hellboy Promo 1993 Pin-up by Mike Mignola

$40,000.00
sold out

This is Mignola’s second attempt at a promotional image. The first promo is a team drawing when Mike originally planned on Hellboy being a member of a team book that didn’t happen. However, this is his first attempt at a promo of Hellboy as a solo character book. This was drawn directly after the Dimepress cover- around the end of Feb. 1993. According to Mike, this is the sixth known drawing of Hellboy, the first attempt at a Hellboy logo, and the first time Hellboy had "correct proportions", excluding the small right hand of doom. Mike didn't end up using this as a promo, but he would later use it for the 1997 Hellboy phone card set.
